Ivaylo Dermendjiev graduated in law from "St. Kliment Ohridski" University, Sofia. He holds a degree in English and European Union law from the University of Cambridge. He is doctor in law with a doctoral thesis in the field of international private law and international arbitration.
Ivaylo Dermendjiev is a member of the Executive Council and the Presidium of the Arbitration Court at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also a member of the London International Court of Arbitration (LCIA) and a chartered arbitrator in the list of arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a admitted to practice law in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is a member of the British-Bulgarian Law Association based in London, as well as of the Austrian-Bulgarian Business Circle.
He is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kenya in Bulgaria.
He speaks English and Russian.
